FlyBase (Drosophila)
This Drosophila database contains genetic and other information
collected from all current and past scientific studies on these species
of fruit fly.
WWW Virtual Library: Drosophila
This is part of the Biosciences area of the WWW Virtual Library.
This section of the library covers uses of the model organism Drosophila
melanogaster for research in genetics and developmental biology.
It is an extensive list of Drosophila resources.
FlyView - A Drosophila Image Database
This holds data on Drosophila development and
genetics, especially on expression patterns of genes (enhancer trap lines, cloned
genes). Their aim is to establish the possibilty to compare images on the computer
screen or to search for special patterns at different developmental stages. Therefore,
all images are accompanied by text descriptions that can be used to search with
keywords.
Berkeley Drosophila Genome Project
Aim to
European Drosophila Genome Project (EDGP)
The European Drosophila Genome Project has the objective of sequencing the X chromosome
of Drosophila melanogaster. It has been funded since
January 1997 with the immediate aim of sequencing divisions 1 to 3 of the X chromosome (about
3-3.5 Mbases) in the next three years. Sequencing is based on the cosmid physical map,
constructed by the European Drosophila Physical Mapping Project.
GIFTS Server
A collection of databases and information on gene interactions in Drosophila.
The Interactive Fly
A guide to Drosophila genes and their roles in development
National Insect Genetic Resources
The National Insect Resources Directory is designed
to preserve, maintain, and to distribute the genes, unique
genetic combinations, and genetic diversity of beneficial
and destructive insect species. Stock centers will preserve
the various groups of pests, parasites, and pollinators that
are economically important.
Mosquito Genomics WWW Server
This provides access to mosquito genomics
and links to other genomics WWW servers, to the National Center for
Biotechnology Information, and to other WWW servers around the world.
Sericultural Science, the University of Tokyo
This provides information on the insect group at the University of Tokyo
and genetic maps of Bombyx mori.
